Getting There: Holly Rd is conveniently situated and very easy to find. By travelling along Papanui Rd towards the city, you can turn left directly into Holly Rd and simply make your way up to number 100.
If you are coming from Christchurch city, the best route is to get onto Bealey Ave heading away from Hagley Park and towards the sea (East) and take a left turn onto either Springfield Rd or Durham St North (which turns into Springfield Rd).
Several blocks along is Holly Rd, where you again make a left turn and find the Clinic a few doors up. There is a large yellow sign saying Herbal Health Clinic against a tall fence so you can not miss it!
Parking: Holly Rd widens just before the clinic address so there is always
on-street parking available.
Hours: We are not open on Fridays or weekends but the clinic is open every week from Monday to Thursday.
Note: Richard's practice is always busy and is often well booked ahead. You will be much more likely to get an earlier appointment time if you are flexible about when you can come to the clinic. Also, do let us know if your condition needs urgent attention - we will make time especially when it is required.

Prescription medicines
Prescription medicines are charged as per their cost. Please note that it is not uncommon for these items to add up to more than the cost of the consultation and testing combined. We do not have a set method or formula that we work to for people so there is no way to predict in advance for you which medicines will be required and at what cost.
If treatment costs will be a problem for you then do not hesitate to let us know. We do not discount medicines or consultation fees but our endeavour will be to keep your treatment as simple and concentrated as possible. The one thing you can be certain of regardless of your situation is that Richard takes great care to pick the herbs and/or nutrients that he thinks will do you the most good and he is very particular about not burdening the body with too many medicines at one time.
Treatments also typically follow a path of steps, or levels which eventually lead to the herbs being phased out altogether. The art of herbal medicine is not about getting people on to things so they can become dependent on them. It is about using herbs and nature to help the body heal itself, for however long that needs to take.
Payment: It is appreciated if fees can be paid at the time of the appointment. Eftpos is available (including Visa and Mastercard credit cards), cash or cheques are also welcome.
Phone 356-1118
Richard's assistant may be able to answer the phone directly but as she is often busy helping patients in the clinic you may need to be ready to leave a message. Your call will of course be returned as soon as possible. We will phone cell numbers if necessary but prefer it if you can leave a landline number to call.
Online
You can also make contact or make an appointment through email, or by flling in the online form on the Contact page. These are also checked every day so you can again be sure of a prompt response.
